Setting into context to whom I will be supposed to be teaching after finishing the Go Teacher program at OleMiss and returning to my country, there are some things to consider, for instance due to the program is sponsored by the Ecuadorian government, the type of school in which teachers are going to work is definitely in a public high school.
I belong to one of the four regions in Ecuador, this is the coastal region, and probably here is where I am going to be teaching, more specifically in El Oro province, a famous place where it is said the best banana fruit is exported to many parts of the world, and also their beautiful cities closer to the highlands, make of El Oro, a province more touristically attractive.
Instead of just going into a classroom and pointing out a specific set of rules in English, taking into account now the location of the public school, I will probably need to be aware of my students´ cultural background and their lack of motivation to learn English as a second language. And that might be the problem, not situating our students inside the classroom as second language learners.
