In Guayaquil, a city near the Pacific Ocean, where I live, teaching in high schools represents enormous responsibilities, especially in public secondary schools, where kids try to learn, in an environment not always appropriate for them. A large quantity of students, in the same classroom is usually, one of the most common problems that teachers must constantly face.     But fortunately, something seems to be changing. Improving education in Ecuador has become one of the most important objectives, in these last years, for the Government. Several new public high schools are being built around the country, and also, old buildings for education are being fixed now.
In order to help students to learn English, as a foreign language, I think, we must consider taking a look, at the different methods used by teachers along the time. Although it is true, that there is no perfect method, this will help us to have an idea, about the different ways to teach, because people do not always learn in the same way.
English language level obtained by learners, in private secondary schools, have always been considered superior, than the level obtained by students in state high schools, and despite or limitations in our language skills, we will try to make a difference doing our best as teachers.
